PENG YU CHIEN (Turtle in the Kitchen)

PENG YU CHIEN, who has been creating under the name “Kitchen Turtle” (廚房的烏龜) since 2022, approaches painting as a steady, honest place to return to. Working intuitively, she often picks up the brush in a relaxed, unplanned way—sometimes with eyes closed—allowing emotion and instinct to guide the flow of lines and color. For her, painting is a quiet language for communicating with the world, and a gentle way of settling herself within everyday life. Through these soft, free-moving compositions, she hopes to share the sense of freedom and tenderness that creation brings.
