喬治歐・莫蘭迪（Giorgio Morandi，1890–1964）生於義大利波隆那，終其一生幾乎未離開故鄉；1910 年代就讀波隆那美術學院，後來亦在該校任教。第一次世界大戰期間短暫從軍，退役後遠離都市喧囂，專注於室內的靜物與窗外的郊野景色。

莫蘭迪以減法式的靜物（瓶罐、盒子、瓶塞等）聞名；他反覆擺放同一批器物，追求色調微差、光影呼吸與空間張力的極限。
