Artist — William Morris The most influential designer of the nineteenth century.
One of the leaders of the British Arts and Crafts movement. World-renowned designer and painter of furniture, wallpaper patterns, and fabric patterns. He was also a novelist and poet, and one of the early initiators of the British socialist movement.
William Morris (W. Morris, 1834-96), the promoter of the British art crafts movement in the mid-19th century, advocated the combination of art and daily life, imitated the medieval organizing chamber of commerce, convened the same, and mass-produced the design. The commodity field included wallpaper, tapestry printing design, church decoration, furniture, glassware and gold and silver crafts. It was a pioneer of the emerging new art movement in Europe in the future, and at the same time opened the trend of diversified participation of artists in the design field.
