About the artist
Ray Chin
A freelance wildlife photographer and environmental educator, Ray Chin began photographing while at university, focusing mainly on wildlife and the natural environment. A love of the ocean brought him to Hualien on Taiwan's east coast, where encounters with whales and dolphins captivated him. He settled in Hualien and became an interpretation and research volunteer with the Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation, working in environmental education and in-depth marine ecological surveys. With more than twenty years of marine wildlife photography experience, his work ranges from images above the water to underwater photography around the world and records of Taiwan's marine environment. Through his photographs, he hopes to help more people discover the blue ocean that surrounds us.
