Title: Taiwan Giant Tree Map
This work was conceived and commissioned by the tree-finding team and illustrated by Abi.
One of the questions our tree-finding team is asked most often is: where can we see the magnificent giant trees you introduce?
This question inspired us to create a map of Taiwan's giant trees, featuring the towering Taiwania trees whose heights we have measured in recent years, along with other notable sacred trees and forests.
The map shows what these giant trees look like, where they grow in Taiwan, and some of the epiphytic plants that live on them. These giant trees and sacred forests span the island from north to south and east to west. Taiwan truly is an island of sacred trees.
Some sacred trees are easy to reach and suitable for visitors of all ages, including the Lulin Sacred Tree, the world's tallest camphor tree, and the Lalakesi sacred tree grove. Others grow in remote places rarely visited by people, such as the twin giant trees on Benye Mountain,
or the Giant Tree of the Wind on Bianjiyan Mountain.
Others, such as the Taoshan Sacred Tree and the Three Sisters Taiwania trees, can be reached with some hiking experience.

About the artist
Illustrator: Abi
My friends in the mountains call me Abi. I was born in southern Taiwan but grew up in a city at the northern end of the island.
I studied design as a student and have loved design and drawing ever since. A few years ago, I began exploring the mountains and became captivated, venturing ever deeper into them.
I love mountain wildlife, historical stories, and searching for traces of the past. I hope to share everything I discover in the mountains in a variety of ways.
