Alongside his fashion photography, he published work in numerous magazines, including Camera Mainichi. His projects include Alice, inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Nadia, a photographic study of an Italian fashion model. He has remained active at the forefront of photography. His books include NADIA: Forest Dollhouse, Alice (1973), A Taste of Honey (1990), The Sixties, The Sixties 2 (2001), Kinky (2009) and Nadia (2016).
If you listen to RADWIMPS, you will surely remember the cover of the album Human Bloom: the small-eyed girl with a face full of freckles and even slightly yellowed teeth is unforgettable. She is the mixed-heritage model Serena Motola. Besides being one of Japan’s most “controversial” models in recent years, she is sought after for collaborations by major brands including Marni and Valentino.

Born in 1998, Serena Motola is described here at age 23. Her father is Italian American and her mother Japanese. Her appearance differs from conventional expectations of mixed heritage, and that unexpected quality may itself be part of her distinctive appeal.
She has loved fashion since childhood and resolved in her first year of elementary school to become a model or actress. Like many famous models and entertainers, this fortunate young woman was discovered in Harajuku by her current agency in her first year of high school (2014). She also caught the attention of the magazine So-en in October of the same year and officially debuted as a model in its January 2015 issue. Starting with the May 2017 issue, she became an exclusive model for So-en. If you are a loyal reader of So-en, you will surely be familiar with her!
The freckle-faced girl with a distinctly world-weary gaze on the cover of popular band RADWIMPS’s 2016 album Ningen Kaika left a lasting impression on many people. The cover introduced more people to Serena Motola, whose distinctive presence also earned her the support of many female fans.
