THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE ART
Gerhard Richter
2 WORKS
Gerhard Richter is a German visual artist whose work encompasses abstract art, photorealist painting, photography, and the use of glass as a medium. In his artistic approach, he follows figures such as Picasso and Jean Arp, working in a variety of forms rather than maintaining a single style. In October 2012, Richter’s Abstraktes Bild sold at auction for US$34 million, setting a record for the highest auction price for a work by a living artist.
