Title: Everyday Exit 06 Artwork medium: Copperplate etching Year created: 2025 Edition: 20 in total, signed by the artist.

Exit Series: “Emergency Exit” signs are a common sight in everyday life, but actual emergency exits generally cannot be opened easily. When we need an emergency exit in life, can we find one that is easier to reach? Everyday Exits takes this question as its starting point, seeking exits in everyday life for both the artist and the public. An exit can also be interpreted in a very personal way: if it brings a sense of relief, then it is a kind of exit. The artist therefore hopes to present a variety of forms of “exit” in the work. They may seem unrelated, but in a broad sense they can all serve as possible exits, offering viewers a shift in perspective and a new way of looking at fate.

Everyday Exit Series: Sense of Security. This series centers on finding an “everyday exit.” The Sense of Security subseries draws on the sense of safety projected onto everyday objects. Light sources of various shapes suggest a direction forward, while an expanse of lines resembling soft grass serves as a metaphor for the feeling of being enveloped by that safety. The uniform black across the composition highlights the hope represented by this faint light.

Paper size: 195(H) x 135 mm Image dimensions: 70 x 130 mm Dimensions including mounting and frame: 300x300mm * Please message us to discuss any other ideas.

Mounting method: basic mounting + mat board (a window mat is placed in front of the work, covering approximately 2mm along one edge of the paper so that only part of the paper is visible)

* The artwork will be mounted flat on a backing board to prevent it from warping due to moisture.

* If you upgrade to acid-free mat board, acid-free adhesive dots will be used to hold the print in place; it can still be separated from the backing board and removed.

The work often inhabits the gray area of contradictions between imagery and the language of materials, constantly moving back and forth between figuration and abstraction, creating softness within hardness, and lingering between sky and earth.

Her primary medium is etched copperplate prints, and she excels at creating finely detailed, misty, tactile layers in her work.

About the artist

Artist Introduction/Wang, Wen-Ling

Creativity walks in the gray areas of contradiction between image and media vocabulary, always pulling back and forth between figurative and abstract, creating softness in the hard, and wandering between the sky and the earth.

The medium is mostly etching with copper plates, and her works are good at expressing the layers of "fine, atomized, and tactile".
