Ray Chin
A freelance ecological photographer and environmental educator who began exploring photography at university, focusing mainly on living creatures and environments in nature. Drawn by a love of the ocean, the photographer came to Hualien on Taiwan’s east coast, encountered mysterious whales and dolphins, and became fascinated by them. Settling in Hualien, the photographer served as a volunteer interpreter and researcher for the Kuroshio Ocean Education Foundation, entered the field of environmental education, and became deeply involved in marine ecological resource surveys. With more than 20 years of marine ecological photography experience, the photographer’s work ranges from images taken above the water to underwater scenes captured around the world in recent years, as well as records of Taiwan’s waters. Through these photographs, the photographer hopes to help more people discover the blue ocean surrounding us.
