David Shrigley
David Shrigley is a world-renowned and critically acclaimed contemporary artist whose work is straightforward and uniquely black humor. From his creation, it can be seen that it is interesting but with a hint of cruel reality, seemingly childish, but in fact, it is the most accurate observation and irony for everyday life.
In Shrigley's dictionary, seriousness is not the opposite of humor, and the opposite of humor is misery. Everyone has low and dark moments, and sometimes no matter what we do, we can't change anything, so it's better to find out its humor. “Because life without a sense of humor is miserable, and the ability to laugh is a luxury that everyone can afford,” Shrigley said in an interview. Exclusive black humor, unparalleled wit, and infinite surprises, he was nominated for the Turner Prize of the Contemporary Art Hall in 2012 for his large-scale exhibition “Brain Activity” at Hayward Gallery in London, and the following year, his main three-dimensional works were also collected by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.
